    Hello SpringOUT-ers,

    This is the last week of the festival, what an amazing festival it has been. It is now time to put up our shoes and begin planning on how we can bring you an even better 2018 festival.

    Wednesday 22nd November sees the NFSA put on a screening of For Love or Money. Details can be found here:…

    Thursday 23rd A Gender Agenda will be launching their AGA Zine. Tickets can be booked at the following location:

    Thursday night will also see the Will & Grace trivia night at the Hellenic Club for Qlife. This is an event not to be missed so get out there and get your Jack and Karen puns ready for a great night of trivia. Bookings can be made here:

    Friday 25th November will see the Pink Party return to Polit bar. More details can be found here:…

    Saturday 25th November sees the annual bush dance take place at the Yarralumla Woolshed. This event is totally SOLD OUT so there is no point turning up without a ticket. To those going have a great night!

    Sunday 26th November will see the 2017 Festival off with a special end of year performance by QWIRE. This is an event not to be missed as they sing songs that have made them so famous over time. Tickets can be booked here:…

    Hello SpringOUTers,
    What a week last week was...apologies for the lateness of this posting, with everything going on it has been difficult to find time to sit down and write a post.
    This week started with the amazing Bianca Del Rio coming to Canberra to perform her one woman show 'Blame it on Bianca Del Rio', even though it was not officially part of the festival it was really nice timing for her arrival here.
    This week sees many events many events that our Events Manager has taken the week of work to cope!
    Wednesday will see the first Long Table lunch with Benjamin Law at Muse, this event is sold out.
    The newly formed ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQ+ network is holding their first networking event which will include a panel to discuss their experiences of being out within their community. This is a great opportunity to learn about what experiences they have had during their journey known as life to where they are today. This is being held at 6pm at Polit Bar in Manuka. Tickets are almost sold out so be quick.

    Also on Wednesday the NFSA is hosting a movie night called Love and Other Catastrophes. Details can be found here:
    On Thursday the Brazilian embassy will be hosting a movie screening of 'The Way he looks', Details can be found here:
    Friday night will see a special night of wine and food at Muse named 'Meet the Austrians - Wine dinner'. This is an event not to be missed, Larry Jacobs and Marc Dobson from Hahndorf Hill Winery will be showcasing their wines on this night. Details and bookings can be found here:

    What are you doing on Saturday 18th November? We are marching to the theme of LOVE. If you aren't already involved in our march please come out and watch from the streets and join us in Glebe park after the march for a nice after of entertainment and food. Details can be found here:

    It is too late to put a group together for the march, so come out and is bound to be an amazing afternoon.
    Also on Saturday at 3pm, Muse is hosting 'Question Time with Andrew Barr'. This will be a great opportunity to hear first hand from our Chief Minister. Details and tickets can be found here:

    Sunday sees the return of the Big Gay Breakfast at Tilley's from 9am. Champers on arrival is included but your meal is at your own expense. Details can be found here:

    Also on Sunday, Muse are hosting author Krissy Kneen to discuss her new novel An Uncertain Grace. Details and tickets can be found here:

    Also, a reminder that the QUEERBERRA photos are still being projected onto the elevator at East hotel daily. Get along and have a look. The book is also for sale from this Friday with $5 from each book being donated to the Aids Action Council. Congratulations Jane and Victoria on this book.
    Finally, I know this is being posted at 12.15am on the day the results are being announced, no matter what the result is today just remember to love each other and look after each other.

    Whats on this weekend?
    Tomorrow morning ( Saturday 4th) the Women's weekend walks will be holding a dog walk. More details can be found here:
    The annual Fruit Tingles womens dance is also on this weekend. Tickets are available at the venue and details can be found here:
    Also on Saturday is the Fire and Ice - Kink Pride event. This is the first time an event like this has been held during the festival which is very exciting. This event is strictly 18+ ONLY. Details and ticketing information can be found here:
    The Aids Action Council is holding a free event at the Pavillion hotel on Sunday called Courageous Conversations. This is a good opportunity to learn how to look at speaking as not a risk taking. This is very exciting event being held as part of our festival this year. Details are located here. Bookings are essential:
    The QUEERBERRA exhibit at the East Hotel continues this weekend also, if you haven't checked it out, go along and have a look, you never know you may bump into one of the people that were photographed!

  • First Festival Post for 2017

    OMG...It's almost here! We can barely sleep here at SpringOUT central!

    Saturday is the first day of our festival for 2017! How exciting!

    As it has for many years this years festival will begin with the AAC's Fair Day. Starting at 11am at Gorman house, swing past our table and check out our sexy shirts for this year which you can own all for the small price of becoming a member of the SpringOUT association, you will also receive a free movie ticket to Palace Electric cinemas amongst other items all for the small price of $25. We will also have our trust EFTPOS terminal there so you can purchase your tickets to our end of festival awards night being held on the 2nd December, this is bound to be an amazing night with our super amazing host Ms Dolly Diamond flying up all the way from Melbourne to entertain us!

    On the same day after everyone has left Fair Day the AAC will also be hosting their first Rainbow Families after party at Gormon House. Details can be found here:…

    The AAC can't forget the adults and have decided to bring back the Fair Day After Party, this is bound to be a great night where you can let your hair down or spike it up and forget about what is going on in the world for a few may even see a couple of our committee members cutting loose on the dancefloor. Tickets are $30...

    And Finally...Saturday will see the launch of the amazing QUEERBERRA art project at the East Hotel. Everyday during the festival the images from the project will be projected onto the wall of the East Hotel between 8am and 8pm. You are bound to find someone in the photos that you know. This is a free event so head along to East and grab a coffee from Muse, a drink from Joes or a pizza at Agostinis and enjoy the amazing work that the photography team that put this project together have completed. The QUEERBERRA book will also be available for purchase from Friday 17th November 2017.

    Nominations will close on the 19th November and finalists will be announced for community voting

    In addition to this your SpringOUT committee will be giving awards for the following

    These to be decided by the SpringOUT Committee

    We at SpringOUT have a huge affection for Cate and the offering of her time and social awareness to help our festival grow is something we are very thankful for.

    The dates for the SpringOUT Pride festival for 2017 have been set as October 28 to November 25

    The festival will consist of new and exciting events as well as our favourites including Fair Day, Bush Dance and a bigger and better SpringOUT Pride Festival march.
